Puppet Show Fundraiser

Our goal is to develop an annual series of original puppet shows presented on the outdoor stage at Downtown Redmond Park. We hope to grow the program in future years and expand to additional communities in the region. The pilot show introduces a gentle, magical world of recurring animal and playful fantasy characters that children will come to recognize and look forward to revisiting year after year.

The first story centers on three friends: a Bee and a Bat, two sensitive, often misunderstood creatures who experience the world very differently, and their friend, a Dragon. When Dragon wants to host a birthday party, conflict arises because Bee thrives during the day while Bat lives at night, and Dragon initially struggles to understand why the same experience doesn’t work for everyone. Through creativity, empathy, and problem-solving, the friends discover a solution by holding the celebration at dusk, illustrating how creative accommodations can allow everyone to belong. Alongside themes of inclusion and understanding, the story gently weaves in environmental awareness by highlighting the ecological importance of pollinators and nocturnal species.
