How Auditions Works
Orchestra members do not need to audition; just sign the interest form. Actors have two options for auditions. You may sign up for an individual audition slot or a group auditions slot.
(or you may do both if you'd like!) If you'd like to audition and can't find a time that works for you or the slots are full, please e-mail Sue and we can make other arrangements. Sue@seattlecommunitytheater.org

Individual auditions: you will prepare a 1-minute monologue and a 1-minute song to present to the director. You can either bring a track to sing with or sheet music and Sue can accompany you.
Group Auditions: If you've never auditioned before (or don't enjoy it) we recommend signing up for the group auditions. You do not need to come with anything prepared. Instead, Sue will lead everyone through some singing and acting exercises together and talk to you about the show and what parts you are interested in.

Audition Form: Please fill out the audition form HERE before your auditions. If you have trouble accessing the form, e-mail Sue seattlecommunitytheater@gmail.com and we can send you a PDF version.

Synopsis
Once Upon a Mattress is a musical comedy based on the classic fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. Set in a medieval kingdom, the story follows Princess Winnifred the Woebegone, an unconventional and spirited young woman who arrives at the castle hoping to win the hand of Prince Dauntless. However, his overbearing mother, Queen Aggravain, has decreed that no one in the kingdom may marry until her son finds a suitable bride—one who can pass an impossible sensitivity test involving a single pea hidden beneath a stack of mattresses.
